Augmented Reality Mobile Game Puts Pokemon in Real World

Pokemon Go, the highly anticipated augmented reality game from Niantic Labs, is finally available for download for iOS and Android mobile devices in the U.S., as well as in New Zealand and Australia.
Niantic, the former Google unit behind the popular augmented reality game Ingress, has teamed up with The Pokemon Company and Nintendo to bring the iconic Pokemon title to mobile platforms.
Pokemon Go could be a game-changer in terms of introducing augmented reality to the masses in the consumer electronics market.
"We're excited that Pokemon fans and gamers can now start exploring their very own neighborhoods and cities to capture Pokemon using the Pokemon Go app," said Niantic founder John Hanke.
